FAQ

1
What are XQC and Quras Gas?
What are XQC and Quras Gas?

On QURAS blockchain, XQC is the main cryptocurrency and Quras Gas is the cryptocurrency for gas. If you have XQC, Quras Gas will be mined every 15 seconds.

2
How can I mine XQC?
How can I mine XQC?

XQC cannot be mined because it does not use POW (proof-of-work) for consensus algorithm. Instead, QURAS uses POI (proof-of-importance) like customized POS (proof-of-stake). Quras Gas is mined by possessing XQC. Consensus nodes are used to confirm the transactions.

3
What is the difference between QURAS and other privacy coins?
What is the difference between QURAS and other privacy coins?

Zcash, Monero, and Dash are popular privacy-focused cryptocurrencies. Each of these projects is using their own technology, but none of them includes smart contracts. In the blockchain industry, and more importantly, in smart contract technology, the privacy of transactions and handling of data is a big issue. QURAS is using encryption technologies to solve this issue.

4
What is an anonymous address?
What is an anonymous address?

An anonymous address can be used on QURAS platform. The user can hide data on the QURAS platform by using zk-SNARKs. An anonymous address is suitable for securing private information.

5
What is a stealth address?
What is a stealth address?

Ring CT is used on the QURAS platform to provide stealth addresses. Stealth address is a “one-time address” which enables anonymous transactions. It works on web, Mac, Windows, and mobile phones. It is suitable for light data such as an account balance, making it convenient for payments and transactions. Users can decide how to use it according to their needs.

6
Why does QURAS use two anonymous technologies?
Why does QURAS use two anonymous technologies?

QURAS is using zk-SNARKS and Ring-CT. Ring-CT also uses zk-SNARKs in the module. Usage of the technologies differs depending on the purpose. When you want to use QURAS for payment with Ring-CT, you can use stealth address, and when you want to hide privacy information, data, or your address on QURAS platform, you may prefer anonymous address. We provide you with an opportunity to choose.

7
What is the block size for Ring CT in QURAS?
What is the block size for Ring CT in QURAS?

We will start at 4 and will increase up to 7 gradually. If size is unlimited, there may be problems with the block size.

8
What is a smart contract?
What is a smart contract?

The beginning of smart contracts dates back to 1994, when Nick Szabo created the term. Mr. Szabo is a person who introduced the digital currency "Bit Gold," which became the basis of the idea of Bitcoin. Based on the blockchain, Smart Contracts are used more specifically in the sense of generic calculations done in the blockchains or distributed ledgers. The definition of Smart Contract says it is the "Online Efficient Agreement System" for various platforms. Smart means that it is efficient, and contract means not a legal "contract" but "agreement." In other words, a smart contract is an efficient consensus system. QURAS uses anonymous technology to promote the privacy protection of the transactions.

9
What is the difference between QURAS and Ethereum?
What is the difference between QURAS and Ethereum?

On Ethereum, every transaction fee made with a smart contract goes to miners. On the other hand, with QURAS, we share a smart contract fee between consensus node and token manager to support a project’s sustainability.

10
Who are the competitors of QURAS?
Who are the competitors of QURAS?

There are some great projects such as Origo Network, Enigma, and OasisLabs who are trying to enable privacy on smart contracts. Only OasisLabs has its own protocol, but traceability of OasisLabs is public. Therefore, we can make a difference.

11
Can I issue a token on QURAS blockchain?
Can I issue a token on QURAS blockchain?

Yes, you can issue tokens on QURAS blockchain. We also provide a token template which enables transparent transactions which do not allow the anonymous transactions. Also, you can use the token template for transparent and anonymous transactions. In the case you use the token template which allows the anonymous transactions, you can use KYC feature to the address for AML.

12
Why do you share token transaction fees with consensus node and token manager?
Why do you share token transaction fees with consensus node and token manager?

Coexistence is our motto. Fundraising on blockchain is an excellent way to start a business. However, we think we can support startups on QURAS platform to make their projects sustainable without fundraising.

13
How many TPS (transactions-per-second) QURAS blockchain supports?
How many TPS (transactions-per-second) QURAS blockchain supports?

TPS of QURAS blockchain is 1000.

14
What if I want to use only transparent transactions?
What if I want to use only transparent transactions?

You will be able to use a token template which enables the transparent transactions.

15
Why is privacy important?
Why is privacy important?

Privacy issues nowadays are very serious and difficult to solve. Transactions of Bitcoin and Ethereum are exposed to third parties. The same can be said for the blockchain. It is not necessary to expose everything to everyone. Concerning privacy, QURAS gives the user the opportunity to choose whether he/she wants to disclose information or not.

16
What kind of files can be saved on QURAS file storage?
What kind of files can be saved on QURAS file storage?

It is possible to store and download any kind of files through QURAS blockchain. There would be no limit on file size for uploads if a client offers enough storage.

17
What happens if someone uploads malicious files on QURAS blockchain?
What happens if someone uploads malicious files on QURAS blockchain?

The content of the files is entirely encrypted and stored on the ’offeror’s computer so that malicious files are not executed and have no effect on the local machines. Therefore, there is no impact on other computers or networks since the files are stored in encrypted mode even though they are compressed.

18
What happens if someone uploads pirated files on QURAS blockchain?
What happens if someone uploads pirated files on QURAS blockchain?

The QURAS platform stores the torrent metafiles in the blockchain. If the client uploads a file, the torrent meta information is kept at the blockchain and also on QURAS blockchain for contracts with offerors. The problem of illegal materials being uploaded is a very complex issue because if a client uploads illegal materials (such as pirated media), QURAS blockchain cannot inspect encrypted data. This is the same thing as with cloud servers - there is no censorship in Cloud Servers, such as Google Drive or iCloud. However, we are trying to resolve this issue by blacklisting those users. The difference with other free P2P cloud services is that the data on their network is not encrypted so that anyone can see the stored files which pose a privacy problem as well. On QURAS platform all the data is encrypted so that users can completely keep their privacy. The difference between the cloud server and QURAS lies in the fact that if their server is down, data will be lost and clouds are vulnerable to hacking. QURAS runs on a decentralized network so even if a computer goes down, it is possible to get data from other computers by using file-sharing technology.

Although it is difficult to completely prevent money laundering
Although it is difficult to completely prevent money laundering

Although it is difficult to completely prevent AML in P2P cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, QURAS's anonymous transactions gives the view key to the third party who you can trust when it is necessary. Of course, if you do not provide a View Key to anyone, your transactions will remain a secret. We give the user an opportunity to choose. Besides, when issuing a token using QURAS, it is possible to allow users to use anonymous address and stealth address only for the users who passed KYC, making it possible to select privacy level for the enterprise usage as well.

20
What is the mission of QURAS?
What is the mission of QURAS?

QURAS is a project aiming to protect privacy for both users and enterprises. Privacy is needed not only in the blockchain but also on an individual and corporate level. And we are here to give you the opportunity to choose the suitable privacy level for any purpose. In addition, it is also possible to launch a project on QURAS, and we are developing a mechanism to support projects continuously by sharing the transaction fee of a Smart Contract with the team behind the project. We aim to strengthen relationships with venture capital, media, exchanges, influencers and key people in the blockchain industry to support projects and startups.
